The Digital Solutions team is part of the wider CIO function, and we are responsible for IT solutions that underpin our multi-channel distribution systems which includes our websites, mobile applications and client-server applications.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Lead to provide not only the required technical direction and leadership for the virgin money credit cards squads, we also need someone with the hands on technical ability to roll their sleeves up and to get stuck in helping us to further develop our leading virgin money credit card mobile app. It’s an exciting time with lots going on and we are growing an amazing team to help us continuously deliver out product roadmap which will support the targeted business growth.
Day to day you’ll be:
Leading the squads in unpicking the technical complexities involved in developing and delivering the business strategy to support the banks growth strategy
Responsible for the low level design, and supporting the build and testing of services across the integration stack
Supporting the Guild on technical strategy and implementation particularly in regards to Java and integration technologies
Understanding key business challenges and drivers and provide input to help drive the IT Strategy and Systems Development roadmaps
Working with our implementation partners with both an onshore and offshore presence
Providing direction and guidance on all technical aspects of integration development
Investigating requirements, problems and opportunities whilst seeking effective solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes
To be brilliant you’ll need to bring:
SME knowledge as well as a significant and successful track record of designing building and testing service across an integration stack
In depth knowledge of Agile and Continuous delivery methodologies
Experience of working in an Agile Scrum environment as part of a multi-discipline team
Experience with the following tools;
- Java - Spring Framework - Experienced in working in a cloud hosted environment - JBOSS Application Server (or similar) - Docker/Kurbenetes An engaging, warm manner with a natural ability to lead and inspire
The ability to positively influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
A love for problem solving as you search for the best solutions and explore new boundaries
