So, what’s our Digital Solutions Vision? Simply put, we will become a fully digitised bank, by developing a best in class digital delivery capability for our colleagues and our customers. But how will we deliver it? By becoming a truly Agile Organisation, our Digital Solutions Agile journey started in October 2020, since then, we have set up new Tribes, new squads, new ways of workings, loads of training sessions and much much more, it’s an exciting time to join the team, what are you waiting for? The Digital Solutions team is part of the wider CIO function, and we are responsible for IT solutions that underpin our multi-channel distribution systems which includes our websites, mobile applications and client-server applications. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Solutions Web Specialist to join our web development team to provide technical direction and leadership helping us to develop our client-side development practice.
Day to day you’ll:
Lead the team in delivering world class web applications for our customers
Plan and coordinate and contribute to deliver web development within the team
Support the Guild on technical strategy and implementation particularly in regard to our web technologies
Understand key business challenges and drivers and provide input to help drive the Tech Strategy and Systems Development roadmaps
Take ownership of robust, commercially viable solutions and support the Guild in identifying emerging industry and technology trends, whilst driving continuous improvement
Coach and mentor colleagues and influence the team and stakeholders when making decisions, demonstrating commercial and risk management skills
Drive the requirements elicitation process and obtain formal agreements from a large and diverse range of senior stakeholders and establish baseline
Investigate requirements, problems and opportunities whilst seeking effective solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes
Be involved in system design, selecting appropriate design standards, methods and tools consistent with enterprise and solution architectures and ensure their effective application
To be brilliant you’ll need to bring:
An in-depth understanding of large complex technology estates, including system dependencies and an excellent understanding of business process and requirements handling
Strong track record in delivering responsive consumer facing web applications with a good grounding in:
- Accessibility guidelines and legislation - Web security standards - Internal and external facing interfaces - SEO and web analytics - Internal and external interfaces Experience of working in an Agile Scrum environment as part of a multi-discipline team of User research, UX design, UI Design and technology team members
DevOps experience ideally specifically with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
A broad understanding in software development approaches, particularly in Test Driven Development
The ability to coach junior team members and be an advocate to other teams and departments
Some experience of working within or alongside Design Systems would be beneficial
Extensive experience in the following technologies:
Experience with the following tools:
- Content Management Systems, particularly SDL Tridion - Git - Team Foundation Server / JIRA - SonarQube or other automated test tools to support the software development process Experience of coaching and mentoring a team as well as scheduling and overseeing the teams work
Experience of Load and Performance testing to assist in Platform modelling and capacity management
An engaging, warm manner with a natural ability to lead and inspire
The ability to positively influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
A love for problem solving as you search for the best solutions and explore new boundaries
