Is this your next opportunity? We are looking for enthusiastic Credit Risk Senior Analysts to join our Unsecured and Secured Credit Risk teams. If you’re insatiably curios and always striving to think out the box then this role could be for you!

Our Portfolio performance team supports the provision of reports from the relevant information and using their expert knowledge of the credit risk on the portfolio, inherent risks, internal and external influencing factors, make recommendations on strategies and policies, and mitigants where relevant.

You’ll report into the Credit Risk Manager, with core responsibilities of producing and collating credit data, providing and presenting this MI into presentation format which will be used to demonstrate insight into the performance of the portfolio in various governance committees and used to manage the credit quality of the portfolio. Through reviewing the data produced, you will have the opportunity to identify themes and trends to highlight discussion aspects. You’ll also support and assist to co-ordinate the provision of commentary from subject matter experts to complement the data produced.  The main purpose of your role will support the ongoing management of portfolios, through the production and collation of management information, reviewing and supplying this to support managers to make recommendations from ongoing review of strategies and policies, including their performance within the risk parameters in place.

Day to day you’ll:

  • Understand the performance of the portfolio and produce portfolio management information for use across a range of stakeholders including Central Committees and Governance reporting.
  • Use analytical tools such as SAS and Excel to manipulate and interrogate data, to explore drivers of risk and trends in the provision of meaningful insight and make recommendations to Senior Management.
  • Support demands for ad-hoc data analysis and insight whilst ensuring the integrity of BAU processes and reporting requirements.
  • Present insights and results from analysis to stakeholders across other teams in Credit, Risk, Operational and the Commercial areas.
  • Support the development and monitoring of risk appetite working with stakeholders across the business to ensure performance is maintained within appetite. 
  • Identify opportunities to automate and simplify existing processes, analysis, and reporting. 
  • Build a relationship with the Credit Risk teams at an operational level to ensure that best practice is shared, challenges are raised in a timely manner to constructively shape outcomes and all requests are met.
  • Demonstrate maintenance of our internal Governance frameworks, policies and Regulatory guidelines and ensure this framework is embedded in the business to ensure sound risk practices are adopted.
  • Work under the leadership of the Credit Risk Manager of to support the development of appropriate stakeholder management processes for managing and delivering effectively for internal customers including engaging at an operational level to ensure effective operation of key processes. 

There are a few essentials you need to bring … 

  • Passionate about data analysis, reporting and insight.
  • Analytical and logical mindset with great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in an analytical role – practical experience of using analytical tools such as SAS and Excel.
  • An understanding of credit risk and its management – prior experience in credit risk or credit related activities in a retail banking environment is advantageous.
  • A good communicator, with the ability to condense and simplify complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to support multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment, with experience in prioritising effectively to manage various management expectations.
  • Confidence to raise new ideas from your experience or insight to ultimately influence the business focus.
  • Able to build strong networks and relationships with internal parties and be a team player.

We'd love you to have (but not essential)...

  • Previous experience in credit risk function in a retail banking environment using analytical software and coding (e.g. SAS, SQL)
  • Strong understanding of credit risk strategies and credit risk lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of the Legal and Regulatory framework and agenda, and operations of Risk and the wider business.
  • Experience in development of management information.
