The role will be based within the Windows Server Team which is part of IT Operation. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will work closely with other Technology staff and 3rd parties and will collaborate with project teams to ensure that change within the environment is managed and controlled effectively. The core aspect of your role will cover the 3rd line support of enterprise services delivered to VM internal and external customers hosted on Windows Server Physical and Virtual Infrastructure. Working closely with 1st and 2nd tier support teams to deliver a professional effective enterprise support offering
Alongside this support requirement, you will work as part of larger project delivery teams, to deliver new services and enhance existing services. In-Depth Experience of Microsoft Servers, Applications & Management tools:
Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 / 2016 / 2019 (Install, Configure, Manage)
Active Directory (Install, Configure, Manage)
Windows Networking Technologies (DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP)
MS Failover Clustering (Install, Configure, Manage)
SCCM (Install, Configure, Manage) & SCOM
McAfee ePO
Trend Micro DSM
Microsoft Exchange
File Transfers
VMWare
Self-motivated individual with the ability to resolve complex operational problems, meet critical deadlines and to deliver quality work first time around
Possess Microsoft Certification in a Windows Server Technology (MCP)
We’d love you to have…
Possess a MCSA/MCSE Certification
Have Knowledge of, or Experience with:-
Networking Providers/Technologies (Cisco, HP Virtual Connect)
Powershell or other scripting experience
Microsoft Azure
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change in a collaborative manner
