We have an exciting opportunity for a manager to join our Capital Management Team, which is responsible for reporting our capital performance, forecasting our capital position and ensuring that we effectively manage capital risks.
Reporting into the Senior Manager, Capital Analysis, you'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and the Group’s capital stress testing submissions, including the Bank of England’s concurrent stress testing. The role will also provide opportunities to assess the impacts of regulatory change, develop internal capital tools and help embed capital management and optimisation practices within the business.

It also provides an opportunity to build strong and effective working relationships with colleagues across Treasury, Finance and Risk in order to ensure the Group’s Capital remains sufficient, and stress testing impacts are understood and embedded through the business.
This role in a nutshell:
Input to the ICAAP processes including:
- Take an active role in coordinating and delivering the Group’s ICAAP.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to ensure assessments and outputs are appropriate and clearly understood.
- Delivery of the Capital Management owned ICAAP activities and analysis.
- Supporting the production of ICAAP documentation and committee materials.
- Contributing to the development and production of ICAAP stress testing, including scenario expansion and Reverse Stress Test.
Input into Bank of England stress testing processes including:
- Leading the production of capital results and analysis.
- Engagement with stakeholders to ensure that stress testing inputs and outputs are consistent and well understood.
- Contributing towards the capital elements of Stress Testing Committee and Asset & Liability Committee papers.
- Assisting with completion of structured data and ‘basis of prep’ submissions.
Support broader capital management activities including:
- Input into capital risk management processes, including risk appetite.
- Interpreting regulatory impacts (e.g. PRA / FPC) on the Group’s capital position.
- Supporting the development of capital forecasting and analysis tools and adherence with internal policies.
- Assisting with the formation of capital methodologies to measure capital allocation and returns by franchise, including stressed capital impacts.
- Produce bespoke capital analysis and identify appropriate forecast assumptions where appropriate.
- Provide timely advice and guidance to stakeholders on the capital related impacts of strategic business proposals and decisions.
To be successful for this role you’ll have…
- Experience in a capital management related function (reporting, risk management, ICAAP, stress testing), from a first line or Prudential Risk/Oversight background.
- A good understanding of the UK prudential framework and the ability to interpret and assess the impacts of regulatory change.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate complex topics in verbal and written forms.
- Demonstrated the ability to undertake complex analysis and problem-solving activities with limited support.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across the business.
- Deep understanding of MS Office suite.
