We’re on the search for a talented Credit Risk Senior Specialist to join our Secured Insight & Innovation Credit Risk team.
Our Team
There is opportunity to influence the secured lending business across the credit lifecycle, and focus will be on the on delivery of arrears and loss insights into the Mortgage portfolio. We also oversee the risk inputs to the secured pricing models, as well as analysis to understand the profitability of any strategy or commercial changes to support and drive profitable business growth.
You’ll report into a Credit Risk manager and provide insight to the Risk Management Leadership Team, Risk committees and the wider business as required. No two days will be the same as you collaborate with a range of stakeholders to ensure analysis is providing true insight into risks and opportunities, with the ability to then drive the insight to tangible improvements in our ability to manage Credit Risk.
Day to day you’ll:
- Investigating monthly impairment movements and providing a detailed explanation for trends and variance from plan, to aid understanding of P&L reporting
- Monitor credit risk inputs to pricing models, ensuring accuracy of inputs whilst working with Commercial and Finance teams to ensure profitability of pricing proposals
- Building and maintaining relationships with the Strategy, Modelling and Risk teams to ensure metrics within the models are reflective of current strategies, models, and future changes
- Manage the production and presentation of summarised content suitable for sharing with the most senior committees within the Bank and externally with regulators
- Lead the design and development of forecasting models and embedding models into Group forecasting & governance routines
- Understand the current year and longer-term strategic plans and providing input into these to ensure VM achieve our targets.
- Engage, inspire, and motivate colleagues across the high performing Secured Credit Risk team.
There are a few essentials you need to bring..…
- Strong analytical experience, ideally using SAS
- Experience of forecasting in a credit risk setting in a retail banking environment
- A great working knowledge of IFRS9, impairments and IRB
- Ability to influence change in a positive and collaborative manner and turning ideas into practical solutions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to condense and simplify complex information appropriately for audience
- Capability to operate effectively with management, internal and external stakeholders and stand up to robust challenge
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage various expectations, delivering multiple deliverables in a fast-changing environment
We'd love you to have (but not essential) ...
- Experience of secured credit strategy; acquisition and/or portfolio.
- SAS Certification
- Background in economics with ability to highlight risks and opportunities from the external environment.
