The Property and Procurement function reports directly into the Chief Digital and Innovation Officer. It is an established function covering all the categories of third party spend in the Bank. The function is regarded as a key enabler in supporting the Bank with its’ ambitious plans for growth, and achieving the cost reduction targets set out in the Capital Markets Day presentation.  In support of this, the Property and Procurement Function work to identify and implement innovative third party sourcing solutions aimed at driving maximum value from all VM engagements with third parties.

The Professional Services Procurement Manager is responsible for collaborating and networking across the Bank, with a specific focus on Professional Services, establishing strong links with key business stakeholders and developing relationships with new and existing partners. This role in a nutshell/ Day to day you’ll be doing:

  • Category Lead for Professional Services, responsible for creating and maintaining a category sourcing strategy and category plan
  • You will be an integral colleague within the Strategic Services Procurement Team. As a key Team member, you will be flexible and where Stakeholder and Customer demand requires will deliver procurements out with your category
  • You will bring external insights to the Category and the Function, leveraging your breadth of experience and existing Networks to deliver innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Creating strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders across the bank, as well as with key supplier relationships
  • Leading tendering processes, ensuring that all stakeholder requirements are met within required timeframes and result in the most commercially attractive terms and conditions for the Bank
  • Delivery of Growth and Savings Target for the professional services category in line with the Property and Procurement targets and the savings targets of the various business areas across the Bank
  • Providing leadership and guidance across VM and Property and Procurement on sourcing approaches and execution
  • Providing accessible and proactive mentoring to the Property and Procurement team, developing knowledge, skills and competence of all staff through focussed coaching and development activities
  • Leading Property and Procurement initiatives and opportunities and supporting the Strategic Services Sourcing Manager and the Head of Property and Procurement with departmental priorities

To be successful for this role you’ll have/ You’ll need to bring:

  • resilience and confidence when operating in an environment where change is the norm
  • Procurement expertise and experience in general sourcing, outsourcing and offshoring
  • ability and confidence to take accountability and own both complex and simple procurements 
  • ability to understand complex contractual documentation and identification of key issues and risks
  • ability to communicate effectively with senior colleagues / stakeholders and to network across the bank
  • strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • ability to cope with multiple priorities in a changing environment
  • excellent interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to influence in a collaborative manner

We’d love it if you had:

  • Regulatory knowledge
  • Knowledge of the Supply Chains and Supply Markets – in particular Professional Services, which includes Consultancy and Advisory Services
  • Knowledge of Sourcing Strategies and Opportunities 
  • Awareness of industry trends in procurement and sourcing and in banking specifically in relation to sourcing opportunities in the Professional Service category
  • Awareness of tools and techniques, processes and practices of innovative sourcing and commercial negotiation techniques
  • Knowledge of Risk Process
  • Sound understanding of Commercial and Legal Language
  • Experience and an interest in the digitisation of Procurement
