Be a change maker with more cha-ching. Live a life more Virgin.
Our Team
You’ll be part of a small team who manage print and mail of letters and statements as well as inbound mail processing and record archival on behalf of all areas across the bank. These activities are outsourced across four third-party relationships and this role is responsible for the management of those relationships. As part of that, you’ll need to comply with the standards set out by Virgin Money and will also need to bring your own experience and thought leadership to drive the right activity to appropriately manage the risks. You can follow established processes, but you also know that that’s not enough – and can evidence your track record in raising the bar and making a real difference
What you’ll be doing
This is not a Sales or Business development role. Instead, you’ll have both direct and line management responsibility across 4 suppliers to:
Ensure that the suppliers are always managed in line with the VM supplier management framework and policy. In addition, you’ll be responsible for driving additional activity that appropriately manages the supplier and service risks.
Identify and manage key third party risks – including the design, operation and testing of effective controls
Use tools such as Exit Plans, Disaster Recovery Plans Contingency Plans to appropriately protect and ensure resilience of the services. Engaging stakeholders to ensure that associated risks are appropriately managed
Develop and implement supplier strategies to help meet the ambitions of the wider business
Escalate and resolve issues between the VM business and the third parties – including acting as a senior point of escalation where required
Host regular governance meetings – actively managing the relationship to ensure services are delivered safely and in line with business and contractual requirements and ensuring service performance meets or exceeds business needs
Manage the contract – ensuring that rights and obligations are actively managed and that the contract is updated in line with changing requirements
Engage with key internal stakeholders and reporting routines to provide insights and agree action plans
Verify invoice pricing and identify financial threats and opportunities related to the services
Engage in Continuous Improvement activity – identifying and supporting the implementation of opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness and / or reduce cost
We need you to have
Deep understanding of third-party (and fourth party) risks and how to effectively manage them, developed through extensive experience in a senior Third Party Management or Third Party Oversight role
Third Party Management experience should be at depth across a limited number of third parties
Experience gained within a heavily regulated environment like Financial Services
Experience of contract negotiation and management – proactively using and evolving the contract to meet business needs
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence decision makers
Critical thinking mindset – curious about the “why”, with the ability to demonstrate successfully challenging the status quo. Knows that “ticking the box” isn’t enough
It’s a bonus if you have but not essential
Experience of print and mail operations delivered via third parties
Ability to critically analyse data to create and agree actions
Experience managing a small team
