Our Team

We are the 1st Line of Defence Assurance Team, partnering with our COO business functions to deliver Risk & Control Testing, Mandatory Compliance Assessments and value-adding Assurance Reviews.​

Our intrinsic purpose is to objectively assess and report on our organisation’s ability to manage Risk and Comply with Internal Standards / Industry Standards / Regulation, whilst driving continual improvement to enable Virgin Money to be the best version of itself in our goal to Make Customers Happier about Money.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading on the planning, delivering and reporting of value adding Thematic, Compliance and Control Testing Reviews.
• Identifying meaningful non-compliances, control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Deploying the most appropriate assessment methodology and testing techniques for the activity allocated.
• Providing detailed and objective substantiation for the findings you raise.
• Acting as a vital conduit for spreading best practice across the business.
• Using your skills and experience to make Virgin Money a safer and better organisation for our Customers and Colleagues

We need you to have

• Proven experience in delivery of Assurance Activities across a wide variation of disciplines, ideally within the Financial Services sector.
• A delivery focussed mindset.
• Be a proactive self-starter.
• Intellectually curious and investigative.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Be detail orientated.

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential

• Professional Certification in a Risk Management, Assurance or Audit related field. (e.g. Institute of Risk Management, Chartered Quality Institute, Institute of Internal Auditors etc).
• Experience in banking or financial services.
