Our Team

We currently have an opportunity within our newly formed Chief Resilience Office (CRO), for An Operational Resilience Manager. Reporting directly to the Head of Operational Resilience, you will provide key support with the creation and execution of the Operational resilience strategy design, development and embedding across the Bank. Ensuing that people, assets and customer service are protected. They will work to ensure that the resilience programme is imbedded across Threat horizon scanning, scenario testing, incident management, change management, reporting and tooling, governance and ops models, Business recovery plans and asset mapping across the Bank

The role holder will be responsible for demonstrating adequate compliance with regulatory expectations of Operational Resilience ensuring they are an expert in Operational resilience key disciplines.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the Head of Operational Resilience with the design, development and embedding of group wide operational resilience frameworks and strategies, and in meeting the wider strategic objectives of the team through provision of clear strategic subject matter expertise. 
  • Management and implementation of the Operational resilience programme across the Bank, supporting with the continuous development of a strong operational resilience culture which is business service and customer focused across the Bank and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Ensuring the delivery of mandatory submissions related to all aspects of Operational Resilience complying with Industry standards Requirements and submission deadlines.
  • Ensuring that effective systems and controls are in place to identify, measure and control all Operational Resilience risks in an appropriate manner and that all activities are conducted in accordance with risk appetite.

  • Delivery of succinct, accurate and informative Operational Resilience MI, which clearly identify practical, risk based and commercially focused recommendations to address weaknesses and/or opportunities for improvement identified.
  • Engaging with External Industry bodies on best practice Operational Resilience management and demonstrating continuous improvement on the development of our strategies and approach whilst being cognisant of any changes to regulatory requirements and/or internal business processes, and assess the impact on Operational Resilience position
  • Deputising for the Head of Operational Resilience at any relevant governance or risk committees where required.
  • Supporting with the development and delivery of operational resilience training and education to relevant roles across the business, including operational areas, the IT function, senior management and the three lines of defence.

We need you to have

  • Experience at a senior level in resilience/ continuity/ resolution in a similar role, preferably in financial services, banking or other relevant industry.
  • The ability to work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines with strong organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Experience in influencing, communicating, and collaborating with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ability to challenge, improve and apply operational resilience standards and strategies.
  • The ability to use gained experience to support business units deliver resilience outcomes.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering structured presentations, briefings, and reporting.
  • Efficient and organised with attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in management and prioritisation of workloads.
