Our Team
As part of the Prudential Advice & Assurance team you’ll play an important role making sure that we identify and implement all the ever-changing regulatory requirements. Our purpose means even greater responsibility to ensure we’re a safe and sound firm in the eyes of our customers, the banking regulators and investors. That’s the ‘assurance’ bit but we’re also on hand to support all areas of the bank to interpret rules correctly and to give ’advice’.

What you’ll be doing
• Issuing clear communication on new prudential regulations (e.g. PRA rules) and initiating change management where necessary.
• Assisting all areas of the Bank with the interpretation of prudential regulatory rules.
• Providing assurance on controls relating to prudential regulation.
• Delivering well-reasoned, fair, and evidence-based judgements on observations and presenting a regulatory opinion.
• Developing and applying your understanding of the legal and regulatory framework and agenda.
• Providing regulatory views to support senior management in their interactions with the PRA.
• Keeping on top of industry best practice and prudential regulatory developments.
• Contributing to management reports advising of emerging risk issues.

We need you to have
• In-depth knowledge of the prudential regulations and the broader regulatory landscape with a strong commitment to staying up to date.
• Proven capability in interpreting and assessing the impact of prudential regulatory changes.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex regulations in clear, straightforward language, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience in pulling together complex and often disparate information from various sources to identify key risks.
• Strong leadership skills to build and sustain effective networks across the Bank to ensure that we’re always on top of regulatory change.
• Ability to make clear, well-informed, timely decisions with confidence.
• Proficiency in managing the needs of multiple stakeholders.

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential
• Experience in or the user of information within key prudential regulatory documents, reports and returns e.g. CoREP reporting, ICAAP.
• Understanding of credit and capital risk management.

Red Hot Rewards
• Generous holidays - 38.5 days annual leave (including bank holidays and prorated if part-time) plus the option to buy more
• Up to five extra paid well-being days per year
• 20 weeks paid, gender-neutral family leave (52 weeks in total) for expectant parents and those looking to adopt
• Market-leading pension
• Free private medical cover, income protection and life assurance
• Flexible benefits include Cycle to Work, wellness and health assessments, and critical illness
• Ability to work anywhere in the UK (where the role allows)

And there's no waiting around, you'll enjoy these benefits from day one.

If you're successful in securing a role with us, there are some checks you need to complete before starting. These include credit and criminal record checks and three years' worth of satisfactory references. If the role is part of the Senior Manager Regime and Certification Regime, it requires enhanced pre-employment checks – we'll ask for six years of regulatory references, and once in the role, you'll be subject to periodic employment checks.
