Our Team

We want to make a difference to our business, to help achieve our ambitious goals in a safe and controlled way. We do this by providing independent assurance over the bank’s key risks, being a trusted advisor on risk and control, and by providing timely and insightful engagement with a commercial focus.

As a Senior Audit Manager, you’ll develop positive and strong relationships with senior stakeholders and stay close to the activity in their areas. You’ll use your experience and SME knowledge to really understand the business’ changing risk landscape and ensure our audit activity is effectively targeted.

The focus areas for this role are Financial and Prudential Risk and you will face off to 1st and 2nd line teams who cover the following areas:

  • Interest rate, funding, and liquidity risk, including management of IRRBB and completion of the ILAAP
  • Capital management, including completion of the ACS and ICAAP
  • Recovery and Resolution planning
  • Treasury operations, including dealing and transaction management
  • Finance operations, including Regulatory Reporting
  • Business partnering

You will need to have a strong understanding of most of these areas, as well as contributing to the strategic thinking and direction of the audit team and leading the development and delivery of audit plans. You will need to be a self-motivated and enthusiastic leader, responsible for managing a team and driving performance. Given the scope of Financial and Prudential Risk it is crucial that you can collaborate effectively within the wider Internal Audit team, particularly around Credit and Model Risk.

What you'll be doing

  • Build a great understanding of the business areas you work with and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to engage them on audit delivery, risk management and the control environment.
  • Develop and deliver a high quality and value-add audit plan for your area and support the wider team delivery as part of a “best team” approach.
  • Keep pace with internal audit best practice.
  • Educate and coach stakeholders on risk management and controls
  • Ensure the audit team’s subject matter skills remain current and adequate across the team
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the function
  • Lead the execution of the agreed activity to budget, quality requirements and timescales, including management of specialist co-source arrangements
  • Attend governance committees and business unit forums to keep updated with changes to the control environment
  • Coach, performance manage and develop your team

We need you to have

  • Deep understanding of the risk, control, and regulatory landscape of most of the areas you face off against (as listed above).
  • Great commercial awareness.
  • Experience of building and leading high-performing teams at a similar level within an audit or assurance function.
  • Experience of developing and delivering audit or assurance plans and working across multiple projects to successfully deliver quality results on time.
  • Excellent knowledge of risk, governance, control and IIA standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills with experience of presenting up to Executive level.
  • Excellent report writing skills, ideally at Executive Committee level or equivalent.
  • A professional qualification in a relevant discipline.

Its a bonus if you have but not essential

  • Experience of providing assurance over change delivery.
  • Experience of developing and delivering Internal Audit strategies.
  • An understanding of the impact of digitisation on banking.

Red Hot Rewards

  • Generous holidays - 38.5 days annual leave (including bank holidays and prorated if part-time) plus the option to buy more
