Our team
Data Platforms and Engineering partner with all areas of the bank to deliver data solutions utilising new technologies and strategies that underpin the Bank of the Future.  We’re responsible for developing key strategic data platforms that help support and drive both business and regulatory strategic outcomes.

You’ll support our mission to deliver a robust and unified data landscape that drives real-time insights, enhances compliance, and serves as the backbone for regulatory and operational reporting across Finance, Treasury, and Risk functions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with data architects to ensure data structures and processes align with architectural principles and meet scalability requirements.
  • Set standards for best practices in data processing, security, and governance.
  • Engage with stakeholders in Reporting and Insights, Strategic and Advanced Analytics, Finance, Treasury, and Risk, understanding their unique data needs and translating these into efficient, scalable data solutions.
  • Help ensure data products meet critical business functions, whether for end-of-day financial reconciliation, risk modelling, or regulatory reporting.
  • Support the implementation of data validation, monitoring, and governance processes within the data workflows.
  • Help identify and implement process improvements


We need you to have

  • Experience in Cloud Data Engineering such as Azure.
  • Skills in designing efficient data models, structuring data pipelines, and implementing scalable data architecture.
  • Knowledge of building and managing ETL/ELT workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
  • Familiarity with implementing data validation techniques and data quality frameworks.
  • Proficiency n SQL and at least one programming language like Python or Scala.
  • Understanding of big data processing frameworks and relational and non-relational databases.
  • An understanding of frameworks and methodologies for ensuring data integrity, consistency, and validation.

If you're successful in securing a role with us, there are some checks you need to complete before starting. These include credit and criminal record checks and three years' worth of satisfactory references. If the role is part of the Senior Manager Regime and Certification Regime, it requires enhanced pre-employment checks – we'll ask for six years of regulatory references, and once in the role, you'll be subject to periodic employment checks.
