Our Team
We are the 1st Line of Defence Assurance Team, partnering with our COO business functions to deliver Risk & Control Testing, Mandatory Compliance Assessments and value-adding Assurance Reviews.
Our intrinsic purpose is to objectively assess and report on our organisation’s ability to manage Risk and Comply with Internal Standards / Industry Standards / Regulation, whilst driving continual improvement to enable Virgin Money to be the best version of itself in our goal to Make Customers Happier about Money.
What you’ll be doing
Leading on the provision of value-adding, insightful and articulate analysis and reporting.
Accountable for the ongoing reporting of progress of the Assurance Programme.
Responsible for the ongoing reporting of Risk Issues raised by the A&C team and acting as a point of escalation.
Driving continual improvement within the team through delivery of improvement initiatives, coaching, organising training and providing oversight to drive high quality outputs.
Acting as a Senior leader within the team to support the department to meet our objectives.
Deputising for the Head of Assurance when necessary.
Building trusted relationships with your key stakeholders.
We need you to have

Expert analytical skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to communicate with influence.
Expert capability in the embedment of Risk Management principles and delivery of Assurance Reviews.
It’s a bonus if you have but not essential
Professional Certification in a Risk Management, Assurance or Audit related field. (e.g. Institute of Risk Management, Chartered Quality Institute, Institute of Internal Auditors etc).
Experience in banking or financial services.
