What you’ll be doing

  • Embedding smart, evidence-based product management practices that align with our Conduct Risk Framework, Policies and Consumer Duty standards
  • Providing first-line assurance over product proposals and reviews to ensure they deliver the right outcomes for customers.
  • Support regular product monitoring routines to identify potential harms to our customers and driving issue resolution.  
  • Evolving our product governance frameworks, managing controls across the three lines of defence for all new and changing products.
  • Support the evolution of VM’s product governance frameworks, with management of controls for all new products, or changes to products across VM’s three lines of defence.

  • Advising business units on all aspects of product governance requirements
  • Delivering timely, accurate, and insightful risk reporting to executive governance forums.
  • Building strong, professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

We need you to have

  • A genuine passion for delivering great customer outcomes and being the voice of the customer.
  • Experience in product governance, particularly around new or changing product
  • A solid understanding of risk and control environments, with a focus on Conduct Risk.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to present findings clearly to senior audiences
  • A focus on detail along with the ability to present your findings to a senior audience in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, adaptable across all levels of the organisation

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential

  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory and business practices for Commercial products.
  • Experience with Consumer Duty, including fair value assessments
  • A university degree or equivalent experience in financial services

If you're successful in securing a role with us, there are some checks you need to complete before starting. These include credit and criminal record checks and three years' worth of satisfactory references. If the role is part of the Senior Manager Regime and Certification Regime, it requires enhanced pre-employment checks – we'll ask for six years of regulatory references, and once in the role, you'll be subject to periodic employment checks.
