Our team
As Finance Business Partner for Unsecured lending (Credit Cards, Personal Loans), you’ll be part of an experienced team of Finance professionals who work with colleagues across Commercial, Finance, Operations and Risk. The role is dynamic, varied and focussed on providing the support to enable Commercial to deliver on strategy.
Our team makes sure that the numbers make sense commercially and are optimised. This is a very exciting time to join given Unsecured has strong growth plans as it looks to build out its strong position within its existing market and new segments over the next few years.
What you’ll be doing
- Interpretation and explanation of financial position including trend analysis, commentary on major themes and highlighting key areas of interest.
- Articulating financial analysis to inform Commercial decision making, including product pricing and profitability assessments, and making recommendations for the optimisation of the product range through analysis and insight.
- Understanding financial evaluation of new product offerings and making recommendations for the optimisation of existing product offerings, providing analysis & insights to help increase revenue lines across the product range.
- Be on the lookout for opportunities to consistently enhance our current modelling capabilities – including pricing models, EIR models, forecasting models.
- Working with Risk & Commercial to optimise portfolio returns, by providing insight and analysis on the risk/reward relationship of products, including effective evaluation and challenge of IFRS 9 provision requirements and long-run credit loss expectations.
- Proactively monitor and understand performance vs Corporate Plan through timely financial insight and commercial awareness, identifying, and communicating opportunities and threats.
- Being responsible for maintaining and enhancing processes, providing recommendations on what technical development and innovation can be made, to drive an efficient and flexible function which can react quickly to changing circumstances. Ensure appropriate controls are in place.
We need you to have
- Proven advanced financial modelling and excel skills using up to date analytical and forecasting tools.
- Evident educational background such as an accountancy qualification, professional qualification in finance, business administration or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills gained in a retail banking environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships across the business to support and challenge key financial assumptions.
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to convey detailed data driven analysis in simple, clear, and concise form.
- Good coaching skills and focus on development of our people.
- Commercial acumen, business understanding and knowledge of key market influences and associated risks within the financial industry, with an ability to identify threats and opportunities in financial forecasting.
- Knowledge of financial performance reporting standards, balance sheet and capital management.
It’s a bonus if you have but not essential
- Data analytical skills, including use of software such as SAS and Power BI, would be an advantage
