What this means is ensuring we have the right skills, capability and capacity within Risk to manage the growth and digital ambitions expected of a Tier 1 bank and we’re on the lookout for like-minded individuals and innovators to help drive our strategy forward!

As part of the Models Innovation team you’ll help to secure the foundations of our business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative analysis across our model suite, providing solutions support the acquisition of new business, risk based account management and manage the bank’s capital across its portfolios.

Day to day you’ll be responsible for…
• Working on new credit model opportunities with the aim of supporting the banks digital agenda.
• Evaluating and developing machine learning and AI modelling techniques to improve risk decisions.
• Establish the use of new data sources and modelling tools.
• Develop opportunities to adopt new, innovative and agile ways for model development.
• Work with the modelling management team to socialise new ideas and shape future opportunities.
• Deliver high quality modelling and data analysis to support the development of the banks credit model strategy.
• Produce documentation explaining complex outcomes in a way that all stakeholders can understand – keeping it straightforward!
• Supporting the development of junior analysts.
• Presenting output for model changes to Senior Management across the bank.

There are a few essentials you need to bring…
• Familiarity of a wide variety of advanced machine learning and AI modelling techniques with experience of applying them in a credit and financial modelling environment.
• Experience in Banking and Risk Management, ideally with experience of IRB.
• Experience in an environment that drives strong commercial understanding and utilises the interpretation of complex data collation and analysis to identify effective data and systems capabilities.
• Experience of model development projects across a range of Retail or Non-Retail credit portfolios with an understanding of model usage
• Strong analytical skills with a good degree in a numerate discipline subject (e.g. maths, statistics, economics etc).
• Expertise in the use of statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS) as well as MS Office

It’s a bonus if you have ….but not essential
• Experience in building trusted relationships
• Coaching/mentoring experience.
• Knowledge of the Basel Capital Requirements Regulation

Point to note…
At the minute, depending on which team you are joining, lots of us are working from home.
